You're trying to kill the wrong fish. The ones that travel in shoals are "scenery," like the deer and foxes that sometimes dart across the road in Sparkle. They are too fleet for any of us, no matter how keen our syntax is.

Yes. Bear in mind that 1. it must be the right fish to match the riddle and 2. its corpse will sink, so you'll need to go to the sea floor to cut whatever part of it the gate wants.
