Standing idle all the day.
This bugs me.
It's not something that hurts me at all, but thematically it feels wrong.
Of course i can understand the "advantages"
Not waiting 1-2 minutes when logging in, on restoring gear (maybe longer for those with tons of herbs)
Friends can give you shit, without having to time log-ins.
Having a log of when enemies are awake
5 minutes plays possible, when you find the time in a busy day.
Any guys wanna chime in with why they do it? Did i miss advantages?

Re: Standing idle all the day.
I sometimes do it just to skip a login, but I don't really need it.
I have heard that people auto-buy items (imbues) from other players while afk, but idk if that's true cause it sounds absurdly against the rules of afking.
Not losing cordials and other buffs is a possible advantage I assume. When I cordial I auto-logout most of the time so I don't know if it runs out, I assume it does or, yeah, just keep cordials and stack them?
I wonder if aging via idling is ok, because I assume most people use it to age.

You drop ...
Saving Raelle.
A [bunch of stuffs] glow briefly.
Goodbye. Until next time.
You stop wielding ...
You remove ...
All the speed from the Chef's cordial seems to have gone, at last.
advantage of idling all the time is that it's trickier for foes to know when you're active
disadvantage of idling all the time is that friends might not know when you're active either
I don't love it, but .. meh
Re: Standing idle all the day.
Pretty much what Raelle said.
And that I want to kick that cheating toe rag named Irk off the top of Legends..

Re: Standing idle all the day.
Setting up scripts or triggers to play the game for you while you are not there goes against our botting rules. So idling with triggers to for example autobuy stuff on auction is not okay, since then you've automated your character to play the game for you.Drazson wrote: ↑05 Jun 2020 10:10I sometimes do it just to skip a login, but I don't really need it.

Just standing somewhere and being given stuff does not sound like botting to me, since you're not actually doing anything. However, having triggers setup to react in some way would probably violate our botting rules. For example, having a trigger to pay the person money when they give you stuff, or an aotomated trigger to drop unwanted or dangerous items given to you.
Re: Standing idle all the day.
We should just remove the no-steal rule from safe spots and people might stop idling so much
Time is precious. Waste it wisely.
Re: Standing idle all the day.
Or remove safe spots altogether...
Then people would have to trust their guild-mates or log out/quit
