Cyberpunk 2077

Post by Zhar » 14 Jan 2013 12:48

There's a new RPG coming up from CD Projekt Red - developers of The Witcher series. It's called Cyberpunk 2077 and is based on the excellent pen and paper RPG from 1990 titled Cyberpunk 2020. The trailer for it is simply stunning and personally I can't wait for it (as I'm an avid fan of the universe and dedicated Netrunner CCG player).

See for yourselves:

CDPR has already proven that they can make top notch titles and I love the fact that they don't cut down on the content and aren't afraid of making it 18+ (seeing how >60% of the gamers worldwide are 26-35 years old it always surprised me that most developers push for 12+ rating on their games).

Are you as excited as I am?

Yeah, I saw this trailer a few days ago on Kotaku, and thought it was nifty. I've never played the Witcher but have heard that it is good stuff.

The Witcher is kickass, as in real badassery when it comes to gamedesign and storytelling. Definitely one of my better experiences in gaming for a very very long time, so I think it's safe to say their envisioned cyberpunkgame is truly in safe hands.
Might and Glory flaming for changing dawn, ancient power revealed of an iron crown, clear and cold and shining so far and bright, crush the world in one clash of your binding light.

Thanks to the game you can now buy The Witcher books in english. I recommend those if you like the "down and dirty" fantasy.

No idea what type of game it is, and havent heard of the game studio, but it sure was a cool trailer. And I usually dislike overly "cool" stuff, and game trailers in general, but this was really nicely done I must say.

You mean you haven't seen this yet?

It's Platige Image that's making trailers for them. It's Baginski's company that's making all of the cool CGI in Poland (Baginski is an art academy reject who got nominated for oscar for his short animated movie The Cathedral).

Impressive animated short. So many promo vids are 10x cooler than the actual games these days. Perhaps in the Witcher 2's case, the game holds up.
